"A Spiritual Preparation
for the High Holidays"

Taught by Chaya Epstein

While holiday preparations involve much cooking, clothing and cleaning on a physical level, our souls also need food (Torah learning), clothing (mitzvot) and cleansing (teshuvah). Learn the art of spiritual preparation for holiday on chassidic teachings.

Tape 1 -
Elul - This sicha analyzes the Previous Rebbe's famous description of the "Elul scent" and "Teshuva wind" in Lubavitch. The Rebbe continues on to connect the explanations to our service today during the month of Elul.

Tape 2 -
Rosh Hashana - Teshuva is higher than even mitzvot, yet Rosh Hashana is higher than teshuva. In Rosh Hashana our essential connetion to God is highlighted. We crown Him our King and He makes us His people.

Tape 3 -
Yom Kippur - As the completion to the ten days of teshuva that began with Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur reveals the essence level of the soul and its unity with God. The five prayers on Yom Kippur bring out the five levels of the soul, and actualizes our intrinsic connection to God.
