Devorah, the award-winning creator of a new spiritual line of art, brings a unique palette to her work. She is a student of Jewish tradition and spirituality, a devotee of Israel, a Graphic Designer, a Photographer, and a Musician with many years of experience as a Registered Music Therapist.

The goals and purpose of her website, are spelled out in her masthead's byline... "The Judaica Gallery dedicated to enhancing spirituality and making the mitzvah beautiful."

"I don't believe in dustable art - pretty pictures that just take up space and need to be dusted," Devorah says. "I want my artwork to have a purpose. I take words that are meaningful - words from the Torah (Bible), which gives us direction in life, and from Tehillim (Psalms) and other spiritual sources - and enhance the words with graphic elements: photographs, typography, layout."

"I want my artwork to touch and bless people, to be therapeutic, to be inspiring. I'm aiming toward healing, edifying, and helping people. As a therapist, this type of work has always been part of my life and it never stops even when you change careers. It just starts expressing itself in a different medium. At art shows or presentations, I've had people with tears in their eyes tell me that they want a particular piece that I have created, because they feel that it will help them in dealing with their own personal hardships or painful situations in their life."

"As I personally study and learn, I am inspired by words that i read or hear. Then I meditate over an application of it in a visual way. Many pieces of the 'healing art' were developed as I was serving as a shomerit, reading tehillim throughout the night and 'watching over' the body of someone who had died, but was not yet buried. As I was commissioned to develop a series of pieces to help in bereavement and loss, I myself, lost my own beloved father, a''h. Then, everything that i read took on a much deeper meaning. As I developed several of those pieces, I was tearing up constantly. I find that others have reacted the same way, feeling that someone else really understands what they are going through. Just like with music - which can help get you through tough times - art can also give a person hope and encouragement."

Devorah's visionary art is a tool for meeting psychological, emotional, and spiritual goals. "I want people to be drawn into my artwork because they find something that they need," Devorah says. "If God gives you a gift or talent in life, it is your job to turn it into a skill, and give it back to Him by helping other people with it."
